EVENT & VENUE SAFETY OVERVIEW

Consent:

  • We remind attendees that you should be safe, lucid, able to consent and be able to maintain the ability to withdraw consent when engaging in any play.

  • Consent should always be specific, informed, voluntary and retractable.

  • It is prohibited to touch or engage in scenes or activities with attendees without their consent to do so.

  • We operate a zero-tolerance policy for pushy/non-consensual/dangerous behaviour. Everyone is subject to this rule, inclusive of staff.

Intoxication & Ability To Consent:

  • Obviously highly intoxicated attendees are still subject to being refused further alcoholic drinks at the bar and we also reserve the right to refuse access to rooms and equipment if you appear to be intoxicated to the point of becoming unsafe or being unable to consent.

Safety & Security Staff:

  • We have a dedicated internal team of safety staff at Fiendish events.

  • The venue also provides SIA registered security & door staff to complement our team.

  • They include Dungeon Masters/Mxtresses, Room & Dungeon Monitors and Roaming Monitors.

  • You can find out more about them in the Safety & Security Staff section of the ruleset.

Courteous use of spaces:

  • You must be mindful if you are passing other attendees in the hallways.

  • Do not squeeze past them or put hands or other body parts on attendees in order to get past them, especially if you are partially dressed or naked.

  • Be patient and wait for an area to clear.

Safewords:

  • We have a default Safeword which must be used in the Dungeon and Playrooms. The safeword is RHUBARB.

  • This safeword MUST be used by attendees in the dungeon or playrooms when engaged in scenes so that the monitors are able to to identify breaches more effectively.

  • Refusal to acknowledge a SAFEWORD, STOP SIGN or instruction to STOP from a member of staff will result in your removal from the premises with immediate effect.

Space & Equipment Safety:

  • We reserve the right to refuse access to or use of rooms and equipment if you are engaging in unsafe or dangerous play.

  • We reserve the right to remove attendees immediately without refunds of fees if any safety or consent rules are broken and to refer the actions or behaviour to any appropriate authority for further investigation.

Non-consensual Actions & Behaviour:

  • Non-consensual violence, threats of non-consensual violence, weaponry (such as live blades, needles or improvised sharps) and otherwise non-consensual aggressive or threatening behaviour will result in the offending attendee’s immediate removal from the premises without refunds of fees.

Information Posters:

  • There are multiple informative posters that are posted around the venue in specific areas. These are to ensure that attendees have the information they need to remind themselves of the rules, access the rulebook or get help.

  • We have informational posters on the following topics:
